Frequently Asked Questions
I am currently going through the divorce process; how do you help?
I can help you build a budget, identify your post-divorce goals, review joint financial assets and evaluate any settlement offers as it relates to your financial plan. I can also review more complex financial topics like: QDROs, executive compensation, family-owned businesses, or annuities/life insurance.
I am not an attorney; however, I can work alongside your legal team and help you prepare yourself and your finances for life post-divorce. I also can help you build a team of experts: accountant, realtor, mortgage officer, etc. to help you along the way.
My divorce is final; how do you help?
Once your divorce is final, I can help you consolidate your financial life and begin working towards retirement. This process usually involves making sure individual accounts are open and assets have been moved, new beneficiaries have been designated, and then management of your new investment accounts.
If you become a client, we meet regularly to update your comprehensive financial plan and make any changes necessary to keep you on track for retirement.
What is your process; how often to we meet?
We meet as often as necessary but no less than twice a year.
How much do you charge?
If you are still going through the divorce process, I provide an initial consultation and comprehensive financial plan for $499.
If you become a client, we charge 1% of the assets that we manage, this will be lower on larger accounts.
